Victor Garza, undergraduate writer, discussed process at our local MFA reading event hosted by Chelsea's. He uses webs, notes, and outlines. Circles with words and names. Process that can't be emailed or drafted or called "revisions."
I find process elusive and maddening, only when I try to confine it to known trajectories. For that reason, I am writing in shards, which I liken to these paper cut-outs in papel picado banners. They are sharp crags of moments, and I will collect them this way, and not ask them to coalesce into a highway or a river or a chapter just yet.
Catrina, Skeleton Lady of Mexico, is a funny shard-filled lady.
